AN ACT concerning local government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding |
Section 11-13-22 as follows:

Sec. 11-13-22. Public hearing procedures for |
municipalities of less than 500,000. In a municipality of less |
than 500,000 inhabitants, the corporate authorities may adopt |
or authorize the zoning board of appeals and any other board, |
commission, or committee that conducts public hearings under |
this Division to adopt rules of procedures governing those |
public hearings. The rules of procedures may concern |
participation in public hearings and the participants' rights |
to cross examine witnesses and to present testimony and |
evidence, and any other relevant matter.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
