AN ACT concerning finance.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Business Enterprise for Minorities, Women, |
and Persons with
Disabilities Act is amended by adding Section |
8l as follows:

Sec. 8l. Certification recognition. Notwithstanding any |
rule or provision of law to the contrary, the Business |
Enterprise Program shall recognize and accept the |
certifications of businesses that have been certified as |
minority-owned businesses or women-owned businesses by the |
City of Chicago, Cook County, or other entities approved by |
the Business Enterprise Council for purposes of participating |
in the Business Enterprise Program, provided that the City of |
Chicago, Cook County, or other entities approved by the |
Business Enterprise Council have certification requirements |
more restrictive than that required by the Business Enterprise |
Program under this Act, including, but not limited to, an |
income level requirement.
