Biography: Serving his third term in the Illinois General Assembly representing the 97th District, which includes portions of Oswego, Montgomery, Naperville, Plainfield, Bolingbrook, Joliet and Shorewood. A recognized reformer and champion of individual liberty, fighting to improve Illinois' jobs climate and strengthen the quality of life for Illinois families. Current Floor Leader for the Republican Caucus. Committed to providing property tax relief, making higher education more accessible and affordable for current and future students at Illinois' public universities, reforming the state's broken workers compensation laws, honoring Illinois military personnel killed in the line of duty, enacting constitutional changes to rescue Illinois' pension systems from financial crisis, and implementing reforms to make state government less costly and more accountable to taxpayers. B.S. in business education from the University of Illinois and current small business owner and commercial real estate broker. Lives in Plainfield with his wife, Ellen, and their five children. An active volunteer and supporter of numerous civic and charitable organizations in our community; coaches youth soccer and has also coached basketball.
