Biography: Family farmer and retired Brigadier General in the Illinois Air National Guard and United States Air Force. Trustee on the Lincoln Land Community College Board of Trustees and past President. Previously served as State Representative from 2011 to 2015 before being named Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources from 2015 to 2019. Received B.A. in Mathematics from Sangamon State University (now the University of Illinois-Springfield). Avid sportsman and hunter; established the Wild Rural Park Hunting and Fishing Preserve. Member of the National Guard Association of Illinois/United States, Air Force Association, American Legion Post #721, and the Knights of Columbus Council #1152. Wayne and his wife Marcia are the proud parents of three sons and grandparents of seven.
