Biography: A native of East St. Louis. Moved to Waukegan in 1985, where he became a Correction Deputy Officer for the Lake County Sheriff Department. He started the first African American Police League of Waukegan and North Chicago. Created P.O.W.E.R (People Organized and Working for Equal Respect) organization. Became the first African American to be elected as Trustee to the North Shore Sanitary Dostrict and the first to serve as Democratic Chairman of Waukegan's Democratic Organization. He is a Southern Illinois University (SIU) Edwardsville/East St. Louis Alumni majoring in Political Science/Journalism. He is a recent graduate of the College of Lake County. He is married and the father of seven.
