Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the use of DES.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
215 ILCS 5/356ffrom Ch. 73, par. 968f
Adds reference to:
215 ILCS 5/363from Ch. 73, par. 975

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Insurance Code in relation to medicare supplements. Provides that an issuer of Medicare supplement policies shall not deny coverage to a person under the age of 65 who meets certain criteria. Limits certain rates. Requires that all types of Medicare supplement policies available to persons over 65 years of age be made available to persons who become eligible for Medicare by reason of a disability.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 2
Provides that an issuer of a Medicare supplement policy shall not charge individuals who become eligible for Medicare by reason of disability and who are under the age of 65 premium rates for any medical supplemental insurance benefit plan offered by the issuer that exceed the issuer's highest rate on the current rate schedule filed with the Division of Insurance (instead of the issuer's premium rates) for that plan to individuals who are age 65 and older.
