SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles Arlie Peterson of Milan, who passed away on January 27, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Arlie Peterson was born in Scotland County, Missouri to Charles Henry and Drucilla Price Peterson on November 11, 1933; he served in the U.S. Army and married Doris Irene Pinson in Missouri on June 15, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Arlie Peterson worked as a general mechanic for Alcoa for 36 years, retiring in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Arlie Peterson was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island; he enjoyed gardening, splitting wood, and being a father to his two sons, whom he taught to hunt; he also enjoyed taking the family on fishing vacations; and

WHEREAS, Arlie Peterson was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, and his parents; and

WHEREAS, Arlie Peterson is survived by his sons, Dave (Cindy) and Albert (Sandi) Peterson; his grandchildren, Kelly, Kristin, Mary Ann, Mindy, Craig, and Ashley; his great-grandchildren, Cammie, Makenna, Owen, Wilhelmina, Rex, Lana, Sophia, Henry, Hannah, Natalie, Grant, Ellie, Cael, Trenton, and Teirnin; and his brothers, Robert (Billie), Larry, and Kenny (Sharon) Peterson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles Arlie Peterson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Arlie Peterson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
