SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

5 ILCS 490/73 new

Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that October 25 of each year is designated as the Gene "Coach Ping" Pingatore Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day to honor the athletic accomplishments and to reflect on the legacy of Gene "Coach Ping" Pingatore. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by adding Section 73 as follows:

(5 ILCS 490/73 new)

Sec. 73. Gene "Coach Ping" Pingatore Day. October 25 of each year is designated as the Gene "Coach Ping" Pingatore Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day to honor the athletic accomplishments and to reflect on the legacy of Gene "Coach Ping" Pingatore.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
