SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Shirley Joyce Nordigian of Wadsworth, who passed away on December 3, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Nordigian was born on August 24, 1936, in North Chicago; she was a lifelong resident of the North Chicago area; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Nordigian was employed in the office of Dr. Kweder for 18 years; she was a co-owner of Lanthans Front Room in downtown Waukegan; she was also involved in the family business, NORSTAN, and served as a corporate secretary; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Nordigian was a member of St. Paul Armenian Apostolic Church, where she served as church treasurer; she always prepared Sunday dinner for her family and loved to bake; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Nordigian was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Nordigian; her parents, Henry and Doris (nee Auger) Korybyski; her sisters, Helen Andrzejewski, Patricia Jones, and Paula Mitten; and her son-in-law, Steve Munson; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Nordigian is survived by her children, Ruth Munson, John (Deloris) Nordigian, Mark (Corinne) Nordigian, and Matt (Lori) Nordigian; her sister, Donna (Rich) Weland; her 16 grandchildren; her 3 great grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Shirley Joyce Nordigian; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Shirley Nordigian as an expression of our sympathy.
