SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sydney Rose Putnam of Springfield, who passed away on July 25, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam was born to Dennis James and Sally Ann Skufca Putnam in Springfield on February 9, 1996; she graduated from Rochester High School and earned her CNA license from Lincoln Land Community College; and

WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam worked at Osaka Japanese Restaurant in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, and her dog, Mel Mel; she loved being at the pool and making people laugh; and

WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam was creative, artistic, and fun-loving, and she was known for her great sense of humor; and

WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rosella Skufca, and her paternal grandparents, James A. Putnam, Betty Putnam, and Diana Putnam; and

WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam is survived by her mother, Sally Putnam; her father, Dennis (Theresa Bietsch) Putnam; her grandfather, John Skufca; her siblings, Jacob (Julie) Stapleton, Kelsi (Caleb) Worsham, Nicole Stapleton, and Erin (Jake) Miller; her nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Walsh, Willow "Big Will", Iris, McKena, Dean, and Evelyn; her cousins, Adeline, Eleanor, and Jack; and many other cousins, aunts, and uncles; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sydney Rose Putnam and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sydney Putnam as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
