SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of David P. Jackson of Rock Island, who
4passed away on September 1, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Jackson was born to Park and Dorothy
6(Aldrich) Jackson in Moline on March 18, 1947; he graduated
7from Rock Island High School in 1965; he served in the U.S.
8Army during the Vietnam War; he married Sharryn DeVooght
9Jackson in Rock Island on December 23, 1993; and
 
10    WHEREAS, David Jackson worked at Schebler Heating and Air,
11retiring in April 2011 after 35 years of sales in the heating
12and cooling industry; and
 
13    WHEREAS, David Jackson was a member of Pinnacle Country
14Club in Milan and the Milan Rifle Club; and
 
15    WHEREAS, David Jackson was an avid golfer and
16photographer; he enjoyed antiquing and traveling; he trained
17his beloved dog, Cosmo, as a therapy dog, and the two would
18visit local hospitals and nursing homes; his most cherished
19times were spent with family and loved ones, especially his
20children and grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, David Jackson is survived by his wife; his
2children, Shelie (Carlos) Jackson-Roldan, Scott (Heather)
3Schroeder, Eric Schroeder, and Joe (Susan) Jeffries; his
4grandchildren, Mia, Micah, Rilee, Jaden, Olivia, Cole, Beck,
5and Sydney; and his sister, Karen Dadisman; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8David P. Jackson and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of David Jackson as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
