SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kay Elaine Peet of Pleasant Plains,
4who passed away on March 29, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kay Peet was born in Springfield to David I. and
6Rachel B. (Thacker) Marker on July 8, 1940; she graduated from
7Lanphier High School in 1958; she had many fond memories of her
8time there and stayed in touch with many of her classmates
9throughout the years; she married Maynard "Bud" Bandy in 1958;
10she later married John "Bob" Peet in 1976; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kay Peet worked as a housewife and mother, an
12office assistant to Congressman Paul Findley, an executive
13secretary for the Illinois Jaycees and the Illinois
14Association of Realtors, an office manager for ESM
15Development, and a manager of Homestead Place and Homestead at
16Montvale; she retired in 2016, after service as a legislative
17assistant working in leadership for the Illinois House of
18Representatives; while working for the House at one time, she
19cooked once a week so the representatives could have a
20home-cooked meal while away; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Kay Peet was willing to help everyone she knew;
22she had great fun getting together with her Lanphier

1classmates every year at their "Birthday Bash"; she was an
2avid Cubs fan and enjoyed reading, working with her flowers,
3watching TV, doing the daily crossword puzzles/Sudoku, and
4watching her family race and bowl; she was well known for her
5homemade chicken and noodles and deviled eggs; she was devoted
6to her family and her cats and loved all animals; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Kay Peet was preceded in death by her parents;
8her former husbands; and her son, Troy Charles Bandy; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Kay Peet is survived by her daughter, Kimberly K.
10(Larry) Hall; her son, Todd L. (Shelly) Bandy; her
11grandchildren, Sean Bandy, Ryan (Ashley) Hall, Rachel (Matt)
12Burdick, Randal (Emily) Hall, Riley Hall, Jonathan (Heather)
13Bandy, Sarah (Caileb) Beaird, and Nicholas Bandy; 14
14great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several
15great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Kay Elaine Peet and extend our sincere condolences to her
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Kay Peet as an expression of our
