SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Edward Tegtmeier of Crystal Lake, who passed away on January 11, 2014; and

WHEREAS, William Tegtmeier was born on October 23, 1924 in Crystal Lake; his parents were Charles and Bertha Tegtmeier; he married Shirley Ann Pletz on August 10, 1946 in McHenry; and

WHEREAS, William Tegtmeier proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps' 1st Division, receiving a Purple Heart for his service in the South Pacific; and

WHEREAS, William Tegtmeier was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 150 union; he worked for Peter Baker and Sons for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, William Tegtmeier was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Shirley; his daughter, Georgia Lee; his parents; his sister, Alice Ragona; and his brother, Fred Tegtmeier; and

WHEREAS, William Tegtmeier is survived by his children, Ginger Sebastian, William (Cindy) Tegtmeier, Paula (Bruce Cavoti) Tegtmeier, and Marcy Ann Tegtmeier; his grandchildren, John William (Heather) Veugeler, Megan Ann Veugeler, Kim Tegtmeier, Gabe Romero, and Caleb, Cora, and Anna Schwan; and his great-grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Sierra, and Summer Siebert, Lauren and Michael Veugeler, and Austin Romero; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of William Edward Tegtmeier; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Tegtmeier as an expression of our sympathy.
