SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wesley H. Kistler of Savoy, who passed away on October 31, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Kistler was born on October 16, 1924 in Scobey, Montana; his parents were Rev. Ernest and Mary Case Kistler; he married Alice Jacobs in March of 1954; they later divorced; he later married Jean Bradley Long on November 24, 1984; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Kistler served his country as a purser in the United States Merchant Marine during World War II; he also served as a weather observer and forecaster in the United States Navy during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Kistler retired from the United States Postal Service in Urbana after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Kistler was a member of the St. Joseph United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Kistler enjoyed music, dancing, sailing, and the outdoors; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Kistler was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his brother, Dale Kistler; and his sister, Genevieve Arms; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Kistler is survived by his sons, Paul Kistler and Douglas Kistler; his daughter, Nancy Kistler; his stepdaughters, Jody Benitz, Wendy Mays, and Cherie Craft; his grandchildren, Chelsey, Courtney, Erin, and Sarah; his step-grandchildren, Jacqueline, Brennan, Katie, and Hayden; his great-grandchild, Noah; and his brother-in-law, Dean Bradley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Wesley H. Kistler; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wesley Kistler as an expression of our sympathy.
