SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Margie L. Schieler of Bunker Hill, who passed away on December 10, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Margie Schieler was born in Alton on June 24, 1935 to Bill and Marie Wilken; she married Melvin Schieler on May 10, 1957 in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Margie Schieler worked for Owens - Illinois glass works; she then went to work at Schnucks grocery store in Alton as a checker for over 15 years; after retirement, Margie and her husband started their own business, 4-M Greenhouses, in Bunker Hill; and

WHEREAS, Margie Schieler was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Midway, where she was involved in various church activities; she also helped with the Bunker Hill food pantry; and

WHEREAS, Margie Schieler was preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister, Elsie; and

WHEREAS, Margie Schieler is survived by her husband, Melvin; her daughter, Michelle (Charlie) Wolff; her son, Mark Schieler; her 3 grandchildren, Meghan, Rachel, and Luke Wolff; and her 2 brothers, Dan Wilken and Bob (Diane) Wilken; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Margie L. Schieler, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margie Schieler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
