SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jerry BoBo of North Chicago, who passed away on August 12, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was born in St. Louis, Missouri to William Melvin Sr. and Byrdelee M. BoBo on June 6, 1954 and was a resident of North Chicago and Lake County for almost 60 years; he was baptized at the age of 10 at the "Old" Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and was active in Sunday school, the youth department, young ushers, vacation Bible school, Christmas programs, Easter programs, and numerous other programs; he attended Central School and Neal Junior High School, graduating in 1968; he graduated from North Chicago Community High School in 1972 and attended college in California; he married Lois BoBo; and

WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was on the cutting edge of the implementation and adaptation of computer software and computer programming for use in the workplace in the late 1970s and 1980s; he worked for Ross Perot's company, Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Texas; later, he was employed by Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was a member of Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church in North Chicago for 54 years; he loved fishing with his brother, "Skip" BoBo, and his nephew, "Binky" BoBo; throughout his entire life he loved tinkering with projects by repairing, rehabbing, and remodeling small and large projects; he was known for his kind heart and was always willing to help other people; and

WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marlene "DoDo" Furlow; and his brother, Melvin L. "Skip" BoBo; and

WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo is survived by his daughters, Sydney and Alexandria; his nephews, Melvin L. III, James R., Kerry L. (Helen), and Larry (LaTanya); his loving sister-in law, Billie D. BoBo: numerous cousins and great nephews and nieces; and a community of very close friends and associates, including George Gordon, Kevin Gross, and Mr. and Mrs. DelConte; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jerry BoBo, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jerry BoBo as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
