SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roger Allan Whiting of Woodstock, who passed away on April 18, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Roger Whiting was born in Woodstock to Roger A. Sr. and Wanda (Chin) Whiting on May 4, 1933; he served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956 and married Yvonne A. Cox in McHenry on November 25, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Roger Whiting worked at Union Special in Huntley, where he was employed his entire career; and

WHEREAS, Roger Whiting loved bowling, gardening, games, and family pizza parties where he was the pizza maker; he enjoyed traveling and introduced his family to many adventures, including Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, the Smithsonian, and the beaches of Florida; and

WHEREAS, Roger Whiting was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yvonne; his sister, Lorraine Russell; and his grandson, Andrew; and

WHEREAS, Roger Whiting is survived by his children, Lucy (Fred) Krchak, Kathy (Al) Wille, Jan (Dan) Terilkowski, Joseph (Maureen) Whiting, Michele (Jason) Urquhart, Misty Whiting, and Roger Whiting III; his grandchildren, Amy, Katie, Courtney, Sarah, Michael, Chad, Haley, Jade, Allison, and Aubin; his great-grandchildren, Noah, Landon, Ryker, Amelia, Steven, Kaia, Imagine, Dominick, and Nolan; his brother, Duane Whiting; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Roger Allan Whiting, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roger Whiting as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
