SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mark Bently Harvey of Coal Valley, who passed away on February 10, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Mark Harvey was born to Joe and Anne Mae (Pratt) Harvey in Ogden, Iowa on October 11, 1932; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War; he married Minnie L. Bakalar in St. Charles on July 17, 1959; and

WHEREAS, Mark Harvey retired from John Deere, Moline Plow Planter, in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Mark Harvey enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and computers; and

WHEREAS, Mark Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie L. (Bakalar) Harvey; his grandson, Jacob; and his siblings, Morris (Lorraine) Harvey, William Harvey, George (Giesela) Harvey, Josephine (Jim) Cammeron, Nancy (Phil) Lowrie, Lannetta (Charlie) Crumbaugh, Mary (Harold) Stoneburner, and Richard Harvey; and

WHEREAS, Mark Harvey is survived by his nine children, Rickey Lee (Reita Griffin) Harvey, Ronald G. Harvey, Cheryl K. (Jim) Dudick, Doreen A. (Denny) Passow, Lori A. (Richard) Price, Mark B. (Amy) Harvey II, Martin B. (Kris) Harvey, Lisa R. (Tim) Rogerwall, and Sandra D. Harvey; his 28 grandchildren; his many great-grandchildren; his special friend, Barbara Tinker; his sister-in-law, Joann Harvey; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mark B. Harvey and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mark Harvey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
