SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stephen "Steve" B. Reeter of Bloomington, who passed away on September 3, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Steve Reeter was born to Bruce E. and Ellen M. Killian Reeter in Bloomington on November 26, 1954; he graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1972 and earned a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University; he married Karen Lynn Bradley in Decatur on September 15, 1979; and

WHEREAS, Steve Reeter served as a police officer with the Bloomington Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Steve Reeter loved his family and was a man of strong faith; he was known for his sense of humor, his love of practical jokes, and his many collections ranging from fossils to flashlights; and

WHEREAS, Steve Reeter was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Reeter is survived by his wife; his three children, Katie Reeter, Kristie (Kyle) Kattelman, and Mick Reeter; his granddaughter, Sandra Kattelman; his mother, Ellen Reeter; his six siblings, Theresa Reeter, Dave (Amy) Reeter, Rich (Katie) Reeter, Bernadette (Bob) Meiner, Paul (Lesley) Reeter, and Maria Reeter; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stephen "Steve" B. Reeter and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Steve Reeter as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
