SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leo Robert Studer of Tolono, who passed away on September 4, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Leo Studer was born in Fisher to Harve and Carrie (Sommer) Studer on September 13, 1929; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Judi Wrather on July 2, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Leo Studer was a Champaign County Sheriff's Deputy for more than 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Leo Studer was active in many community organizations, including the Illini Lodge 17 Fraternal Order of Police, the Illinois Police Association, the Lions Club, and Tolono village government; he served as an election judge; he was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Flatville; he was an avid fisherman and a longtime member of the C-U Bass Club; and

WHEREAS, Leo Studer was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Michele; and

WHEREAS, Leo Studer is survived by his wife, Judi; his son, Kent (Anne); his grandsons, Jacob and Anthony; his sister, Lila Shields (Bob); and two nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leo Robert Studer and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leo Studer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
