SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Timothy R. "Tim" Kratochvil, who passed away on September 23, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil was born to Roger and Mary Kratochvil on April 2, 1974; he graduated from Mt. Olive High School in 1992 and then attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he had a very successful baseball career and was later inducted into the SIU Department of Athletics Saluki Hall of Fame; after college, he played for two years with the Boston Red Sox organization; he later earned a master's degree and a superintendent's certification; and

WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil spent 27 years in education; he was a teacher and coach at Genoa-Kingston High School and Taylorville High School; he served as the high school-junior high school principal at Pawnee for 10 years and the last two years as superintendent; and

WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil's goal was always to make a difference; and

WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil is survived by his parents; his children, Jack, Luke, and Olivia; his sister, Jane; the mother of his children, Wendy; and his companion, Melanie Shutt, and her children, Riley and Randy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Timothy R. "Tim" Kratochvil and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tim Kratochvil as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
