SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Franklin H. "Frank" Haertjens of Moline, who passed away on November 8, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Frank Haertjens was born to Phillip and Eloise (Blair) Haertjens in Moline on July 7, 1937; he married Barbara Anderson in Moline on September 27, 1958; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; and

WHEREAS, Frank Haertjens retired from John Deere Harvester in Moline in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Frank Haertjens was a member of Sacred Heart and the Legion of Mary; and

WHEREAS, Frank Haertjens was an avid reader and a basketball fan; he enjoyed traveling and camping with his children; and

WHEREAS, Frank Haertjens was preceded in death by his sisters, Erma Johnson and Paula Wagoner; and

WHEREAS, Frank Haertjens is survived by his wife; his children, Deb Struck, Daniel (Aileen) Haertjens, Tom (Barbara) Haertjens, Teri Hayes, and John Haertjens; his sister, Mary Elaine; his twin brother, Fred (Naomi) Haertjens; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Franklin H. "Frank" Haertjens and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Haertjens as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
