SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

625 ILCS 5/18d-180

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a county to which the Illinois Commercial Relocation of Trespassing Vehicles Law applies may, by resolution, choose to be excluded from the application of the Illinois Commercial Safety Towing Law in that county and that, upon adoption of such a resolution by the county board, the county clerk shall certify to the Illinois Commerce Commission that the county board has adopted the resolution. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning transportation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing Section 18d-180 as follows:

Sec. 18d-180. Applicability.

(a) The provisions of this Chapter apply to all the activities of safety relocators in any jurisdiction to which Chapter 18a of this Code applies in accordance with Section 18a-700.

(b) Any county to which Chapter 18a of this Code applies may, by resolution, choose to be excluded from the application of this Chapter in that county. Upon adoption of a resolution by the County Board, approved by a majority of its members, providing that the county shall not be subject to this Chapter, the county clerk shall certify to the Commission that the County Board has adopted the resolution.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
