| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ken M. Christy, who passed away on March | 4 | | 26, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ken Christy was born to Ken and Carmella | 6 | | (DeGrazia) Christy on September 18, 1944; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ken Christy was employed by the Aurora Post Office | 8 | | as a letter carrier for over 35 years; he also served as Aurora | 9 | | Township Clerk; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ken Christy was past President of National | 11 | | Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Union Local 219; he was | 12 | | most recently the President of the NALC for the State of | 13 | | Illinois; he was very involved in politics, volunteering, and | 14 | | raising money for many charities; he was always willing to | 15 | | provide a helping hand; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Ken Christy was preceded in death by his parents; | 17 | | his sisters, Charmaine Pliska and Margaret Chase; and his | 18 | | brother, Lawrence Christy; and his brother-in-law, Ed Pliska; | 19 | | and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Ken Christy is survived by his wife of 52 years, |

| 1 | | Bonnie; his three daughters, Kristin (Dion) Hadley, Kathleen | 2 | | (Ken) Steil, and Karrie (Dave) Campbell; his five | 3 | | grandchildren, Sara Steil, Ken Steil III, Michael Squires, | 4 | | Jennifer Steil, and Ally Hadley; his brother-in-law, Mike | 5 | | Chase; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Ken M. Christy, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
