Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.

Sec. 30. Term of public member. (a) A public member of the Commission serves a term of 4 years, except that the terms of the initial members shall expire on February 1, 2015.
Following the expiration of the terms of the initial members of the Commission, the Governor may re-appoint initial members as follows: (1) five members to terms that expire February 1, |

(2) five members to terms that expire February 1,

(3) five members to terms that expire February 1,

Notwithstanding subsection (c) of this Section, initial members re-appointed to terms that expire on February 1, 2016 or February 1, 2017 may be appointed to a 4-year term following expiration of their re-appointment.
(a-5) Public members of the Commission added under this amendatory Act of the 98th General Assembly shall serve 4-year terms.
(b) A public member is eligible for reappointment to another term or part of a term.
(c) A public member may not serve more than 2 consecutive full terms. For purposes of this prohibition, a member is considered to have served a full term only if the member has served more than half of a 4-year term.
