Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

    (210 ILCS 170/40)
    Sec. 40. Reimbursement requirements.
    (a) A birth center shall seek certification under Titles XVIII and XIX of the federal Social Security Act.
    (b) Services provided to individuals eligible for medical assistance shall be covered in accordance with Article V of the Illinois Public Aid Code and reimbursement rates shall be set by the Department of Healthcare and Family Services.
    (c) A birth center shall provide charitable care consistent with that provided by comparable health care providers in the geographic area.
    (d) A birth center may not discriminate against any patient requiring treatment because of the source of payment for services, including Medicare and Medicaid recipients.
