Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.

Sec. 45. Qualifications for licensure. A person shall be qualified to be licensed as an interpreter for the deaf and the Commission shall issue a license to an applicant who: (1) has applied in writing on the prescribed |
| forms and paid the required fees;

(2) is of good moral character; in determining
|
| good moral character, the Commission shall take into consideration whether the applicant has engaged in conduct or activities that would constitute grounds for discipline under Section 115 of this Act, except consideration of prior convictions shall be in accordance with Section 47 of this Act;

|
(3) is an accepted certificate holder;
(4) has a high school diploma or equivalent; and
(5) has met any other requirements established by the
