   625 ILCS 5/12-611         from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12-611                      

        Amends the Illinois  Vehicle  Code  to  prohibit  a  driver  from      
   operating  a  sound amplification system that can be heard outside the      
   vehicle from 50 (instead  of  75)  feet  or  more.   Provides  that  a      
   violation is punishable by a fine not to exceed $100 (instead of $50).      
          STATE MANDATES FISCAL NOTE                                           
          In the opinion of DCCA, HB1259 fails to create a State mandate       
          under the State Mandates Act.                                        
          HOME RULE NOTE                                                       
          HB1259 does not preempt home rule authority.
