      New Act
          Creates the Energy Education and Marketing Act.  Provides
      the short title.

 1        AN ACT to create the Energy Education and Marketing Act.
 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:
 4        Section 1. Short title. This Act  may  be  cited  as  the
 5    Energy Education and Marketing Act.
 6        Section  5.  Legislative purpose. The purpose of this Act
 7    is to coordinate a program designed  to  demonstrate  to  the
 8    general public the importance of the Illinois oil exploration
 9    and production industry; to encourage wise and efficient uses
10    of   energy   to  promote  environmentally  sound  production
11    priorities; to support research  and  educational  activities
12    concerning  the  oil exploration and production industry; and
13    to prompt remediation of historical oil  field  environmental
14    problems.
