 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4039

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 4039, on page 1, by
 3    replacing lines 11 through 14 with the following:
 4        "(a)  A peace officer who  interrogates  a  person  in  a
 5    police  station  who  is  suspected  of  committing a capital
 6    offense must videotape the interrogation."; and

 7    on page 1, by deleting lines 21 through 25; and

 8    on page 1, line 26, by changing "(d)" to "(c)"; and

 9    on page 1, by replacing lines 27 and 28 with the following:
10    "available to local law enforcement agencies,  subject  to  a
11    separate appropriation, for the purpose of purchasing".
