 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 423

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 423 on page  2  by
 3    inserting immediately below line 10 the following:
 4        "(c)  By  January  1, 2001, the Commerce Commission shall
 5    establish by  rule  statewide  standards  for  tree  trimming
 6    activities  performed  by  electric  public  utilities.   The
 7    standards shall be based upon the guidelines set forth by the
 8    International  Society  of  Arboriculture  and any applicable
 9    standards established by the Occupational Safety  and  Health
10    Administration and the American National Standards Institute.
