SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Allan John Hanson of Hampton, who passed away on July 30, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Allan Hanson was born in Canby, Minnesota to James Russell and Leona (Winkels) Hanson on February 11, 1938; he married Linda Young in Hampton on June 10, 1961; he served in the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1964; and

WHEREAS, Allan Hanson worked as an inspector for Alcoa and retired in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Allan Hanson was proud to participate in an Honor Flight; he was a car enthusiast; he enjoyed camping, especially in Alabama during the winter, and watching his children and grandchildren's sporting events; in his younger years, he enjoyed his boat and his motorcycle; he will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit; and

WHEREAS, Allan Hanson was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Don and Paul Hanson; and his sisters, Diane Hanson and Janice Bates; and

WHEREAS, Allan Hanson is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Amy Harris, Scott (Sandra) Hanson, and Jenny (Brad) Hofmann; his grandchildren, Julia and Jackson Harris, Sam, Ryder, and Sophia Hanson, and Madeline, Molly, Sarah, and Noah Hofmann; his sisters, Dorothy (Homer) Heaton, Marilyn (Gary) Seidel, and Linda (Mark) Ellis; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Allan John Hanson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Allan Hanson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
