SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald B. "Ron" Miller of Illinois City, who passed away on November 17, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Ron Miller was born in Drury Township to David and Vada Pulliam Miller on February 26, 1926; he graduated from Aledo High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy; he married Betty Jo Vance in Aledo on April 16, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Ron Miller farmed in the Eliza area for many years; he was also employed in the maintenance department at The HON Company in Muscatine, Iowa, retiring in 1991; and

WHEREAS, Ron Miller was a member of the Westmer Larger Parish and the Mercer County VFW Post 1571; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with his family; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Ron Miller was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo; his parents; and his brothers, Robert and Lyle; and

WHEREAS, Ron Miller is survived by his daughter, Darcy Relander; his sons, Steve, Ron (Robin), and Scott (Jill) Miller; his grandchildren, Kelly Jo, Travis, and Cody; three great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; his sister, Donna Thompson; three nieces; and two nephews and their families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ronald B. "Ron" Miller and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ron Miller as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
