SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of H. Blake Finch of Silvis, who passed away on April 6, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Blake Finch was born in Savannah, Georgia on July 6, 1944; he was the son of Braxton and Becky (Gober) Finch; he attended Southern Illinois University; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War; he married Debbie in Port Byron on October 20, 1973; and

WHEREAS, Blake Finch moved from Granite City to the Quad Cities area to work for National Steel; he worked as the Admissions Manager at The Quad City Downs to meet people in the area; while working at The Quad City Downs, he was introduced to the Duffys, who later offered him a position with their company, Per Mar Security; he retired as vice president of Electronic Security at Per Mar Security after 35 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Blake Finch was best known for his love of photography and videography, and he was never seen without a camera in hand; he could always be found taking pictures and video of ball games, sporting events, and all things important to friends and family; he cherished his children; and

WHEREAS, Blake Finch was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Braxton and Regina Finch; his mother and stepfather, Becky and Charlie Hicks; and his brother, Wayne Finch; and

WHEREAS, Blake Finch is survived by his wife, Debbie; his children, Jennifer (Matt) Drobney, Kelly Finch, and James Booth; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Brendan, Braxton, Mattie, and Elizabeth; his sisters, Cindy (Brian) Sheehan and Lynn Mitchell; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of H. Blake Finch and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Blake Finch as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
