SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Neal C. Johnson, who passed away on June 16, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Neal Johnson loved his job in public relations, and he helped those in need by volunteering; and

WHEREAS, Neal Johnson was a Master Mason and a member of the Moose Lodge; he served on numerous boards, most notably St. Jude; and

WHEREAS, Neal Johnson was affectionately known as "Papa" and "Pop-Pop"; he was a gifted communicator; he was strong and compassionate and had a heart filled with love; he was an amazing father and grandfather; his support was limitless, and he passed many of his wonderful attributes to his children; and

WHEREAS, Neal Johnson loved golf, dancing with his wife, and playing with his grandchildren; he was a jokester and could have an entire room laughing; he was a talented musician and played many instruments throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, Neal Johnson loved his brothers, Gary, Dan, and Bill; he would frequently have breakfast with them and enjoyed this immensely; he loved their wives and children as well; and

WHEREAS, Neal Johnson is survived by his wife, Lynne; his children, John (Marisol) Johnson, Christopher (Victoria) Johnson, Dawn (Jordan) Tanner, and Sarah (Nemanja) Stanojevic; and his grandchildren, Silas Tanner and Solana Johnson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Neal C. Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Neal Johnson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
