SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Virginia Ann Ohren of Granite City, who passed away on July 5, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren was born to Alphonse B. and Evelyn M. (Begeman) Schleper in Breese on December 22, 1947; she married John "Jack" Ohren in Edwardsville on August 8, 1969; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren retired from Granite City Steel after 32 years of service; she worked in yard maintenance and as a caster runout operator; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren was a faithful and active member of Johnson Road Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren is survived by her daughter, Karen Ann (Joel) LaFrance; her son, Leonard L. (Shawna) Ohren; her five grandchildren, Haileigh, Breanna, and Eli Ohren and Kyle and Kaleb LaFrance; her sister, Genevieve M. (Ralph) Rensing; her brother, Richard Schleper; and her beloved pet, Honey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Virginia Ann Ohren and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Virginia Ohren as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
