SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert F. Sickels of East Moline, who passed away on October 27, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Robert Sickels was born to Marion and Myrle Huneke Sickels in Burlington, Iowa on May 17, 1938; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he married Carole Ann Bliss in Burlington on June 22, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Robert Sickels worked as a test engineer for Case IH for 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Sickels enjoyed boating and camping; and

WHEREAS, Robert Sickels was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years; his parents; and his grandson, Robert Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Robert Sickels is survived by his children, DeWayne (Rhonda) Sickels, Pam (Randy) Garien, and Lori (Jeff) Brown; his significant other of 14 years, Delores Flathers; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert F. Sickels and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Sickels as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
