SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to congratulate Christine Myers on the occasion of her retirement as executive director of the Livingston County Mental Health and Disabilities Boards; and

WHEREAS, Christine Myers' dedication to improving the lives of others began with her early work in the Birth to Three Early Intervention Program, followed by serving as an activity director, case manager, and Special Olympics coach for a Center for Developmental Disability Services; she then worked as an independent service coordinator for 13 years; and

WHEREAS, Christine Myers has served as executive director of the Livingston County Mental Health and Disabilities Boards since 2015, providing leadership in advancing behavioral health in Livingston County through this position and as an active member of the Association of Community Mental Health Authorities of Illinois (ACMHAI); and

WHEREAS, Christine Myers has brought her expertise and passion for helping others to the membership of ACMHAI, where she has been an ongoing contributor, strong advocate, and skilled spokesperson on intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health issues, serving as the chair of the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Committee since 2022; and

WHEREAS, While serving on the ACMHAI Legislative Committee, Christine Myers has demonstrated a keen awareness of the legislative process and has consistently advanced community-based behavioral health and system issues within Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services in Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Christine Myers has served on the Executive Council of the Illinois Public Health Association, representing the interests of community mental health and developmental disabilities boards to the public health community; and

WHEREAS, Christine Myers serves as director of the Livingston County Commission on Children and Youth, treasurer of the Livingston County Homeless Coalition, and as a member of the OSF Livingston Community Health Needs Assessment Team; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Christine Myers on her retirement, and we express our heartfelt gratitude for her exceptional service, leadership, and contributions to behavioral health and for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we wish Christine Myers a joyful and fulfilling retirement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Christine Myers as an expression of our esteem and respect.
