SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elroy "Bud" Pfingsten of Watseka, who passed away on October 11, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Bud Pfingsten was born to Walter and Elma (Schroeder) Pfingsten near Woodworth on May 2, 1931; he attended St. Paul's Lutheran School of Woodworth and later graduated from Milford High School in 1949; he married Dolores Brutlag at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Woodworth on August 12, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Bud Pfingsten was a hog farmer for most of his life; and

WHEREAS, Bud Pfingsten was on the Farm Bureau for 20 years and the Claytonville Oil Coop Board for many years; and

WHEREAS, In his younger years, Bud Pfingsten played softball with FS and other teams; after retirement, he enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce; he loved his family and enjoyed having coffee with his morning buddies; and

WHEREAS, Bud Pfingsten was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Rhianna Doggett; his brother, Wendell (Dorothy) Pfingsten; his sister, Dianne Campbell; his brothers-in-law, Frank Bohlmann, Rev. Allen Brutlag, and Marvin ZumMallen; and his sister-in-law, Sue Pfingsten; and

WHEREAS, Bud Pfingsten is survived by his wife; his daughter, Yvonne (John) Doggett; his grandson, Patrick (Katie) Doggett; his siblings, Bernice Bohlmann, Evelyn Brutlag, Marilyn ZumMallen, Kenneth (Linda) Pfingsten, and Leon Pfingsten; and his brother-in-law, Allen Campbell; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Elroy "Bud" Pfingsten and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bud Pfingsten as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
