215 ILCS 5/368f new

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Requires group health insurers to give a detailed statement to insureds when increasing policy premiums providing reasons for the increase. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning insurance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding Section 368f as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/368f new)

Sec. 368f. Premium increase notification. An insurer providing policies of group health insurance shall provide a detailed statement to its insureds when increasing policy premiums providing reasons for the increase. The statement must include specific factors and calculations necessitating the increase in premiums.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
