SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

725 ILCS 5/103-2.2 new

Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law, law enforcement interrogations are limited to a maximum of 9 hours in a 24 hour time frame.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning criminal law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 is amended by adding Section 103-2.2 as follows:

(725 ILCS 5/103-2.2 new)

Sec. 103-2.2. Interrogation length. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, law enforcement interrogations are limited to a maximum of 9 hours in a 24 hour time frame.
