SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas H. "Tom" Duckett of Colona, who passed away on June 13, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Tom Duckett was born to Ray and Cornelia (Stapf) Duckett in Moline on December 14, 1932; he graduated from Moline High School in 1951; he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and he was honorably discharged in 1956; he attended college on the G.I. Bill; he was married to Clevelyn Rigdon from 1957 to 1963; he later married Luanne Ruth Paquette in 1965, and she preceded him in death in September 2021; and

WHEREAS, Tom Duckett formerly worked at Eagle Signal, the East Moline Works of International Harvester, the Bendix Corporation, Quad City Die Casting, and Aramark, from which he retired as area operations engineer after 28 years of service in 1998; and

WHEREAS, Tom Duckett deeply loved his family; and

WHEREAS, Tom Duckett was preceded in death by his wife, Luanne; his parents; and his siblings, Ethyl Hill, Arlyne Sheil, and Robert Duckett; and

WHEREAS, Tom Duckett is survived by his sons, Terrence Duckett and G. Scott (Andrea) Duckett, and his grandchildren, Alyssa Duckett, Shaun Duckett, and Alayna Duckett; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas H. "Tom" Duckett and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Duckett as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
