SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Judith A. "Judy" Martin of Joliet, who passed away on March 9, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Judy Martin was born to Raymond A. and Mable (Waite) Kozian in Joliet on March 19, 1944; she graduated from Joliet Central High School in 1962; and

WHEREAS, Judy Martin was employed at the Joliet American Legion Post 1080 for 12 and a half years until her retirement; during her tenure, she developed many great friendships and memories; and

WHEREAS, Judy Martin was a member of St. Patrick's Church; she was a past president of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Sheridan Elementary School; she served as an active member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary for many years; and

WHEREAS, Judy Martin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend; and

WHEREAS, Judy Martin was preceded in death by her great-grandsons, Gavin and Samuel White Jr.; her parents; her sister, Diane R. Kaiser; her special cousins, Marilyn Zembruski and Donna Blackwell; her grandparents; her aunts and uncles; and her dog, Marley; and

WHEREAS, Judy Martin is survived by her husband of 19 years, Phillip R. Martin; her sons, Robert A. (Michele) White, Kenneth J. (Dayna) White, and Daniel J. (Bobbie Jo) White; her grandchildren, Robert White Jr., Brian White, Samuel (Kristen) White, Heather White, Corine White, and Kenneth White Jr.; her step-grandchildren, Samantha Zinkiewicz, Brittany Fuller, and Kayla Zinkiewicz; her great-grandchildren; her brother, Lawrence Kozian; her brother-in-law, Terry Kaiser; her nieces, nephews, and cousins; Phillip's children, Julia (Jim) Angelopoulos, Phillip (Wendy) Martin Jr., and Roy (Angie) Martin, and their children and grandchildren; her numerous friends; and her dog, Merle; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Judith A. "Judy" Martin and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Judy Martin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
