HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Carolyn W. Bradley of Eldorado, who passed away on March 29, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley was born on February 8, 1920, in Junction; her parents were Leonard Valentine and Georgia (Floyd) Winterberger; she married Edward A. "Shorty" Bradley Sr. on June 22, 1937; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley was a retired teacher who had taught at Equality; she also served as the librarian at the Shawneetown school; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley was a faithful member of the Junction General Baptist Church, where she served her entire life as a member of the Women's Ministries, a Sunday school teacher, and supported foreign missions; she was also the treasurer of Mt. Olivet General Baptist's "One Day Women's Society" and the past vice-president and member of the Equality Tuesday Club; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley greatly loved her family and friends and enjoyed people; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Alexis Carole Bradley; her sister, Gwendolyn Berry; her brother, Lt. Col. Charles L. Winterberger; and her aunt, Faye Winterberger; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley is survived by her daughter, Marolyn and Herb Cowsert; her sons, Edward Jr. and Melanie Bradley, Floyd and Phyllis Bradley, and Mark and Cheryl Bradley; her grandchildren, Illinois State Representative John Edward and Amy Bradley, Jana and Bryan Bebout, Joshua and Allison Bradley, States Attorney Jeff and Michelle Bradley, Jaclyn Cowsert and her fiancee, Donny Dale, Lori Beth and Adam Porter, and Travis and Mallory Bradley; her special great-grandsons, Jackson Edward Bradley, Nolan Ty Bebout, Joshua Gabriel Bradley, Easton Bradley Bebout, Landon Ray Porter, and Cooper Mark Bradley; her sister, Marjorie and Bob Barnett; and her sisters-in-law, Gerama Bradley, Wilma Bradley, and Oleva Wintizer Winterberger; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Carolyn W. Bradley; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carolyn Bradley as an expression of our sympathy.
