SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wade R. Bivins of East Carondelet, who passed away on November 29, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bivins was born to Clarence H. and Helen D. (Kuni) Bivins in East Saint Louis on October 18, 1966; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bivins worked on the Mississippi River for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bivins was a volunteer firefighter for the Prairie DuPont Fire Department for 39 years and was a member of the Emergency Services & Disaster Agency for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bivins loved hunting and traveling with his wife; he especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and having a drink with friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bivins was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Marvin Bivins, Roger Bivins, and Raymond Bivins; and his sisters-in-law, Rhonda McAbee and Amanda Bivins; and

WHEREAS, Wade Bivins is survived by his wife of 35 years, Paula (Goss) Bivins; his daughters, Tabetha (fiancé, Tony Parisi), Wendy (Jason) Bundy, and Jenny (fiancé, Jeff Heusohn) Bivins; his grandchildren, Parker, Brady, and Rosie; his siblings, Norman Bivins, Vera Freppon, Carla (Mark) Griffith, and Joe Bivins; his brothers-in-law, Warden R. Goss, Robert L. Goss, Frank McAbee, and Doug Freppon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Wade R. Bivins and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wade Bivins as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
