HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Marcella Hawthorne
4on the occasion of her retirement after many years of dedicated
5service with the United States Social Security Administration
6on March 3, 2011; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Marcella Hawthorne attended school at Kenwood
8High School; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Marcella Hawthorne began her career with the
10Social Security Administration in July of 1970 as a
11Stay-in-School employee; she steadily ascended through the
12ranks, serving in such positions as Claims Development Clerk,
13Service Representative, Claims Representative, Operations
14Supervisor, Field Services Specialist, Security Specialist,
15Project Manager, Assistant District Manager, and District
16Manager; she eventually rose to the position of District
17Manager of the Social Security Administration's Chicago East
18Field Office, where she remained until her retirement; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Marcella Hawthorne is the loving mother of
20Lonneice and the devoted grandmother of Diamond, Summer, and
21Satynn; and

1    WHEREAS, A celebration in honor of Marcella Hawthorne and
2her many accomplishments at the Social Security Administration
3will be held on March 12, 2011 at the Grand Ballroom in
4Chicago; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marcella Hawthorne serves as a model of hard work,
6integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
7Illinois; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate Marcella Hawthorne on the occasion of her
11retirement and wish her many happy and healthy retirement
12years; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Marcella Hawthorne as a symbol of our esteem and
15respect.
