HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul E. Gardner of Bartonville, who passed away on April 21, 2012; and

WHEREAS, He was born on September 11, 1928, in Peoria to Charles "Al" and Anna M. (Ketch) Gardner; he married Nancy Paul on December 21, 1979, in Eureka; and

WHEREAS, He served in the United States Navy at the end of World War II; and

WHEREAS, He was a 42-year journeyman electrician that worked out of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 34; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville; and

WHEREAS, He enjoyed the water and was a boater for over 20 years; he enjoyed photography, flower gardening, and his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his 4 brothers; and his sister; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gardner is survived by his wife, Nancy; his sons, Thomas (Elizabeth) Gardner, Gerald Gardner, Daniel (Silvana) Gardner, and Benjamin (Tami) Gardner; his daughters, Christine (Steven) Simpson and Elizabeth Gardner; his stepson, Steven Paul; his stepdaughters, Sherry (Rex) Mustain and Sandra (John) Post; his sisters, Sister Lucille Gardner, Mildred Bannister, and Frances (Marvin) Ioeger; his 18 grandchildren; and his 8 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Paul Gardner; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Gardner as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
