SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Myrtle R. Tanner of Stonefort, who passed away on September 22, 2011; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 27, 1943, in Union County to the late Gus Hubert Rush and Myrtle Ivan Vaughn Rush; she was married on September 21, 1961, to James E. Tanner; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Indian Camp Baptist Church and president of the Farm Bureau Women's Committee; she retired from Sam's Club in Marion; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Myrtle Tanner is survived by her husband, James E. Tanner; her children, Deborah (Karol) Hunter, Brian K. (Joann) Tanner, Carlos (Ellen) Tanner, and James W. (Melissa) Tanner; her brothers, Berchard Rush, Max (Janie) Rush, and Ted (Brenda) Rush; her sister, Elizabeth Thompson; and her grandchildren, Emily and Joshua Tanner, Ciara, Jadin, Macie, and Reed Tanner, and Clayton, Levi, Caroline, and Elliot Tanner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Myrtle Tanner; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Myrtle Tanner as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
