SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roberta L. "Bobbie" Vandalia, who passed away on January 16, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia was born on January 7, 1945, in Alton; she was the daughter of Robert and Pat (Brown) Wohlert; she married Robert L. Vandalia on August 7, 1969, in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia was the owner and operator of Golden Shears Hair Studio in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton, where she served as an elder and deacon; she served as a Stephen Minister, head of the Aids Interfaith Response Group, and head of the Aids Support Group at the church; she also conceived and organized the annual community Christmas dinner; and

WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia was a talented artist; she also built and furnished doll houses and made bread dough flowers; and

WHEREAS, Roberta Vandalia is survived by her husband, Robert L. Vandalia; her sister and brother-in-law, Zona and Bill Dodd; her brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Sherry Wohlert; her nieces and nephews, Dawn and Jerry Cooley, Shawn and Joe Yates, Tony and Heather Dodd, Vance and Marjorie Wohlert, Troy Wohlert, Judy and Bob Baum, and Chris Russell; her 17 great-nieces and nephews; and her aunts, Carolyn Brown and Jackie Wohnlich; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Roberta L. Vandalia; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roberta Vandalia as an expression of our sympathy.
