HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, After over 9 years of distinguished service, Janice Bonneville will end her tenure with the State as Deputy Director of Benefits at Central Management Services; and

WHEREAS, Janice Bonneville has been highly respected by members of the House and Senate for her keen intelligence, management expertise, and her accessibility to explain complex benefit changes to constituents; and

WHEREAS, Janice Bonneville represented Central Management Services in the 15-month negotiations with AFSCME, which resulted in a contract in May of 2013 that saved taxpayers $900 million in healthcare savings; and

WHEREAS, Encountering ever more complex challenges from mandates, programs, and resources, Janice Bonneville directed an interagency group with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to better coordinate benefits to 350,000 employees, retirees, and dependents; and

WHEREAS, Janice Bonneville performed legal work at the Federal Bureau of Prisons center at Pekin for 11 years prior to joining the State; and

WHEREAS, A native of Belleville, Janice Bonneville graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1990 before earning her law degree at Washington University in St. Louis in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Janice Bonneville is the daughter of Galen and Ruby Eschman; she and her husband, Michael, have 4 children, Cody, Jennifer (both in the United States Air Force), Johnathan (currently at the Air Force Academy), and Mackenzie, at home; and

WHEREAS, Janice Bonneville will soon join Illinois State University as director of employee benefits upon leaving her service with the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Janice Bonneville and wish her every success in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Janice Bonneville as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
